In the last few years, Pitso Mosimane has written himself into sports history. as he led Mamelodi Sundowns to win the South Africa league title for the fifth time in seven years.
Mosimane since he took charges in 2012/13 season he has lifted incredible 11 trophies with the Brazilians club, he was the first coach south Africa coach to win the confederation of Africa Football Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016.
“Mamelodi Sundowns are in need of head coach, after Rulani Mokeona failed to produce good results in the past two years, they won the league but the management says it’s not good enough, the team has joine Amakhosi in a market of searching for coach.
“Pitso Mosimane the renowned South Africa football coach, is set to make a significant return to his roots Mamelodi Sundowns, no talk’s has taken place between Pitso and Sundowns management, Sundowns are considering bringing him back, they won’t fire Rulani he will be his assistant coach,” said Mamelodi Sundowns close source.
Pitso Mosimane emphasised the importance of Mamelodi Sundowns as a footballing region, and highlighting its rich history and how he manage to release Mamelodi Sundowns from trophy drought during his time.
Mosimane pointed out that many key players on that team were Mamelodi natives underscoring the area’s significance in nurturing footballing talent.
“Back to Mamelodi Sundowns? Yes I don’t mind giving back my energy there, i made history there and i will work along side with coach Rulani Mokeona again it’s been a while. Mamelodi Sundowns is a big club and i would say yes if they approache me again,” says Pitso telling the journalist.
