FREE STATE – Police were summoned to a farmhouse close to Glen where they found the bodies of an elderly couple with visible injuries about 300 meters away from the farmhouse.
On the 4th of May 2024, a worried resident contacted the police in Glen because he was unable to reach his neighbors on their mobile phones.
Upon reaching the farm, law enforcement officers proceeded to the farmhouse and found that the doors had been left unlocked. Upon arrival at the house, blood was spotted on the floor and the house had been thoroughly searched, yet the elderly couple were nowhere to be found within the premises.
Right away, a comprehensive plan of action involving multiple disciplines was put into place and an overnight search for the suspects and the elderly individuals was conducted.
The man, aged 76, was discovered at a distance of around 300 meters from their farmhouse, while the woman, aged 73, was found inside the septic tank on the property.
As the search went on, their Toyota Land Cruiser was discovered close to Majwemasweu (Brandfort).
Initial inquiries showed that both victims had open wounds on their upper bodies and were officially pronounced dead at the location.
Items such as tools and electronic devices were taken from the residence.
Glen authorities are looking into incidents of home break-ins and homicide.
There is currently a search for a man in progress with no arrests made yet
